Medica USA
Medica USA was established in October 2022 to develop business in the U.S. and North America. Medica Group obtained FDA Registration for specific disposables to be utilized for Cardiac Surgery and to launch new product lines in the blood purification sector strategic to the U.S. Market.
The establishment of Medica USA is part of the geographical expansion project for sales in a territory that is one of the most significant for the parent company, Medica S.p.A.
April 2023 marked an important milestone for Medica USA following the announcement of the acquisition of production assets, product lines, commercial brands of water purification filters (Water Filters), and blood purification filters (Hemoconcentrators and Hemofilters) related to the Minntech production facilities, which later became Cantel Medical and Medivators. The acquisition brought back to Medica some products developed by the founder Luciano Fecondini in the 1980s when he served as Global R&D Manager of Amicon (Massachusetts, USA).
The acquisition of these activities allows the Medica group to leverage its extensive experience in the design and production of hollow fiber membranes and filters, expanding its product portfolio and continuing to deliver quality products to the US and international markets in line with the strategy of geographic expansion of its business.
The manufacturing site in Minneapolis for the extrusion of capillary membranes will be operational by the end of 2024.
